Milliarium Cellars Supporting the Arts
Ann Arbor, Michigan – The evening of May 8th found Milliarium Cellars in the company of some of the Ann Arbor area’s finest restaurants along with a selection of international wineries and wine distributors for the purpose of raising money to fund art education programs of the Ann Arbor Art Center.
The 25th annual Ann Arbor WineFest culminated on the final evening where patrons had the opportunity to taste some fabulous wines and enjoy a strolling dinner while placing bids in the silent auction for various items ranging from wine to art pieces and autographed sports memorabilia.
With the overall art focus, the artistic centerpiece of the 2010 WineFest was a 50 foot tall art installation by the Kalamazoo, Michigan based art/education/technology collaborative, BIGThink.
“Wine and art are a natural fit, as winemaking definitely contains an artistic element involved in producing high caliber wines,” said John Zielinski, owner of Milliarium Cellars. “We were very pleased with the opportunity to be a part of the fund raising efforts for the Art Center. Being a native of Michigan, this opportunity allowed me to give back to the community with a silent auction lot along with sharing some of our wines with members of the Ann Arbor and surrounding communities.”
The evening was capped off with a live auction of rare and expensive wines and other collectibles, which spawned some competitive bidding all for a great cause. If you appreciate art or wine this is definitely one event that should be on your calendar in 2011.
