2007 Pinot Noir, Split Rock Vineyard, Sonoma Coast
The Split Rock vineyard is planted on the south-west slope of Sonoma Mountain where it is bathed by marine breezes flowing through the Petaluma Gap. The rocky clay soil combined with the influence of the ocean produces a Pinot Noir of deep red color introducing a beautiful red fruit nose and luscious fruit flavors of strawberry, raspberry, and cherry. The 2007 growing season facilitated the creation of a well-balanced wine showcasing lush tannins with a harmonizing acid backbone concluding with a finish that lingers on the palate. Wonderful on its own, our 2007 Split Rock Pinot Noir would be an excellent accompaniment for lighter fare such as rosemary chicken and pork tenderloin.

91 Points, Wine Enthusiast
This is a very dry, silky and elegant Pinot Noir. It’s not shy, offering rich cherry, red currant, mocha, bacon and sandalwood flavors that finish in a swirl of spices. Good now, and should develop bottle complexities over the next six years.
